Connecting Members

Connect your members to Cobot so they can log in to their member portal.

There are two ways for members to sign up to Cobot; either via your Signup Page or by adding them manually from the admin portal. When manually added, you will need to take the extra step of connecting the member so they can access their member portal. This is where they can access their invoices, update their contact details, interact with other members in your space and make reservations on your booking calendar.

This guide will cover how to do that.


Sending an ‘Invite User’ Email

You can send your member an invitation to connect to their member portal a few different ways.

1. Directly from the Member Overview by clicking on the 'connect' button next to their status.

2. From the member's profile directly by clicking on 'Connect Now'.

Both options will direct you to the email invite for that member. Their email details will be automatically populated, and the unique link to complete the process. You can edit what this email says under Customize » Emails.

What Does This Look Like to the Member?

This is how the email will look to your member:

Once they click on the link, they will be redirected to Cobot, prompted to complete the sign-up process, and accept your spaces Terms & Conditions.

After this, they will receive an additional membership confirmation email with their membership details and a complete draft of the Terms & Conditions they agreed to. You can also edit this email under Customize » Emails.


Adding Member and Sending Them Log in Details

You can also connect the member by creating their account and password for them. This is helpful for companies or if a member is struggling to connect themselves. Simply click on any of the connect options explained above » Add User.

The member's email will be populated, so all you need to do is create a memorable password for them. Click 'Add User' and give the member their new login credentials. These are what they should use on your spaces log in page.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • If you add the user in this way, they will be prompted to accept your spaces Terms & Conditions when they first log in to their member portal.

  • It is a good idea for the member to change their password after they have successfully logged in. They can do this by following this guide.
