Cobot's integration with MailChimp allows you to link the two accounts so that all active members and new members are added to your MailChimp list.
Now that you have a list of all past and present members of your space, how can you accomplish targeted marketing to specific groups of members?
When your members are added to your MailChimp list from Cobot, it automatically brings in five data points:
You can view this within MailChimp under Lists » Select your Cobot synchronized list.
This list will serve as the base for creating your targeted marketing lists. When a member changes their plan, it will automatically update in MailChimp and adjust the date changed field.
MailChimp defines a targeted marketing list as a segment.
To define and save a segment, you can follow these simple steps:
1. Select Segments » Create a Segment
2. Select the sorting type (in this case, plan) and the value it should match (in this case, part-time)
3. Preview the segment to ensure it is including the correct information, then click Save as Segment.
4. Name the segment and make sure to keep the auto-update box selected.
Done! Now when you create your MailChimp email campaign, you can set it to send to your specific segment.
To create a date-based list, the steps are the same as above, except that in step 2, you will select the sorting mechanism of date before / date after. This will allow you to differentiate between long-time members and members who recently signed up (for auto-welcome emails, for example).
